Franjieh from Bkirki: No for Boycotting Dialogue and We Reject Neutral or Technocrat Cabinets

Marada Movement leader MP Suleiman Franjieh criticized on Tuesday March 14's position to boycott the national dialogue, explaining that rejecting to participate in all-party talks in the past led to “the civil war and and allowed foreign powers to meddle in Lebanese disputes”.

"Lebanese leaders should discuss and agree on all national topics, including the formation of a new government,” the Zgharta MP said after meeting with Maronite Patriarch Beshara al-Rahi in Bkirki.

Franjieh rejected having a neutral or a technocratic government, but he voiced support for the proposal of forming a cabinet of political leaders, a suggestion presented by the leader of the Free Patriotic Movement MP Michel Aoun.

Concerning the parliamentary elections, MP Franjieh said he also perceives the national dialogue to be “a gate for reaching an accord on the electoral law”, reminding that "Bkirki has openly rejected the 1960 law”.

"The problem in small electoral districts is that election money can be spent excessively to buy votes,” Franjieh expressed, saying that proportional representation gives a more just and fair image of a community's orientation.

Exactly correct ... The trouble is that M8 keeps offering compromise while M14 offers only more divisiveness. There is plenty of room for a deal but M14, specifically the Future Movement, offers only demands.

Of course, yes, sure mmckini.
M8 keep offering compromises in the form of car bombs. The only compromising they do is compromising Lebanon for the sake of Bashar and Khameni.

Really @mmckinl? Exactly what are the compromises that M8 is offering?
Let's see a list:
- our way or the highway and make sure you close the door behind you
- No way will we ever let go of HA arms
- No moqawama is suicide for Lebanon
- M14 Christians are inciting Sunni Shi3a clash
- We want Lebanon to fight to liberate Palestine, you don't too bad
- and so on and so on

Is this what you call compromise? They can keep their compromises and stick them where the sun never shines. M14 offered compromise after compromise even to the point of acquiescing to make peace with the butcher Assad and where did that lead us? Right, nowhere. M8 in Norway believes in win win, only play as if they do so they can end up having win loose.

Thanks, but no thanks we will take our chances on our own this time. Enough is enough.

@anonymetexasusa

From what I read in Naharnet, the Daily Star and Ya Libnan M14 has been insisting on the government resigning prior to a new cabinet and that Hezbollah not be invited to the talks ... Is that incorrect?

Thumb geha 14 November 2012, 07:19

no that is not correct.
what m14 is asking for is to apply the constitution. is there anything wrong with just doing that? or you support the law of the jungle that hizbushaitan wants to apply?

FT, stop this schizophrenia... really, over 20 nicknames is pathetically scary.

Franjieh looks like an Israeli, speaks like an Israeli, acts like an Israeli yet he's Lebanese.

israaeli or syrian: what is the difference?
we are so unfortunate that we have two neighbors who love us so much they each want a piece of us!
