Mansour Heads to Cairo ahead of Gaza Trip: Israeli Threats Do Not Intimidate Lebanon

Foreign Minister Adnan Mansour traveled to Cairo on Tuesday ahead of heading to the Gaza Strip as part of an Arab ministerial delegation aimed at protesting the Israeli assault against it.

He said from the airport ahead of leaving for Egypt: “Israeli threats do not intimidate Lebanon.”

He added: “We respect international resolutions, especially United Nations Security Council resolution 1701, but Israel is committing daily violations against Lebanon.”

“Lebanon will respond in an appropriate manner should Israel decide to launch an attack against it,” stressed Mansour.

Israel had reportedly issued a warning against Lebanon on Monday over the discovery of two Grad rockets in southern Lebanon that were prepared to be fired against the Jewish state.

Addressing the Israeli assault on Gaza, the foreign minister said: “The least that we can do is head to the territory and show our support to the Palestinian plight.”

“We hope that these actions will not be limited to visits, but steps that would help advance the Palestinian cause and end the Israeli blockade against Gaza,” he added.

“We must take brave decisions that yield results,” he stated.

The Arab ministerial delegation headed to Gaza includes the foreign ministers of Iraq, Egypt, Palestine, and Sudan, as well as Arab League chief Nabil al-Arabi.

Good job Phillipo! Besides "We respect international resolutions, especially United Nations Security Council resolution 1701, but Israel is committing daily violations against Lebanon.”
What about the UN resolution to disarm hizbala!
What about the UN resolution to capture the hizabala gang that killed Harirri!
Also, "...Israeli threats do not intimidate Lebanon"; The only threats are the iranians and their proxies, in Lebanon.

benzona - Don't you think that as you are on an English Language web site your comments should be in English, so that people outside the Middle East can understand you.

Naharnet used to be in French as well... But this portal is now English and Arabic.

I heard you were Brit? I also graduated from London. Can't say more about myself or Hezbollah will have me abducted next time I land in Beirut. People around here already too much about me, such as my Russian origins (as well as Lebanese)... Isn't it FT? You'd screw up a Lebanese pal, wouldn't you?

I never ask a person, where he is from, what his religion is, or what are his political thought as long as he acts like a human being and tells the truth.
Actually I graduated from Manchester, has much better football teams.

City or the red devils suck. Nothing betta than Chelsea or Arsenal :)

I guess as long as people are civilized (which is hardly the case in some areas (i emphasize on the some) of Lebanon or the M.E. then there's nothing wrong in exchanging ideas and opinions.

On this forum, which isn't a forum, you'll find a guy with 20+ nicknames. He's actually getting paid to do so. His employer is a former army general known as Michel Aoun. He takes his orders from Damascus and soon to be exclusively from Tehran.

If it came down to it, I'd rather be a Yiddish boy commenting on a Lebanese site, than an Iranian brainwashed idiot commenting on that same site.

“Lebanon will respond in an appropriate manner should Israel decide to launch an attack against it,”

why would they launch an attack if they are not threatened? they ll launch an attack only if hezbis provoke them. but i guess it s all right by the gvt that a political party decides the fate of a whole country!!!
