3 People Burn to Death in Car Crash on Jbeil Highway

Three charred bodies were retrieved from a vehicle heading to northern Lebanon after it overturned and burst into flames on the Jbeil-Barbara highway, the National News Agency reported on Thursday.

The agency said the Mercedes overturned multiple times and then caught fire.

It identified the owner of the vehicle as Maha al-Kurdi from the northern city of Tripoli.

But the bodies, which were taken to a hospital in Jbeil, were charred beyond recognition, NNA said.

Also Thursday, the driver of a pick-up identified as Hamza al-Hasan was killed after he collided with a truck on the roundabout at the entrance of the eastern city of Zahle.

Two of his brothers were injured in the accident, NNA added.
