Qortbawi Slams Politicians and Journalists for 'Issuing Verdicts' before Judiciary

Justice Minister Shakib Qortbawi criticized politicians and the media for interfering in judicial cases, saying investigations should remain confidential until indictments are issued.

In remarks to An Nahar daily published on Sunday, Qortbawi said: “The probe into any judicial case should remain secret until an indictment is issued.”

“Any leak (of information) is punishable by law,” he stressed.

“Some politicians and journalists are dealing with judicial cases linked to political incidents as if they are the ones investigating them and issuing verdicts,” the minister told An Nahar.

According to Qortbawi, such interference in the judicial work puts “unacceptable moral pressure on the judges, and harms the judiciary and Lebanon.”

He said only an “independent judge” guarantees a fair verdict in all circumstances and no matter how the political situation changed in the country.

I have been looking at declarations and posts of m8 guys taking a step back, trying to understand what is going on, and believe me it is funny:
- their ministers are issuing declaration after declaration that do not make sense. Qortbawi is the one interfering in all judicial cases and accusing others of doing so :) while the so in law is twisting reality f who wanted the 1960 electoral law in the previous elections :)
- m8 guys are extremely disoriented mostly due to the imminent fall of the assad regime, and the clear popular swing which will reflect in the upcoming elections, and this is translated by the virulent attacks under different false names :)
m8 are pathetic and do not want to realize they lost already any future hope.
the only thing they can try to do is a military coup, which will not succeed this time, as they will be treated like the Israelis in 1982.

my fear is worse than yours :)
this time round it does not seem we will have someone coming from outside to help us sort this mess out.
my fear is that we will have a civil war that will get rid the world of the Lebanese problem. in other words, they will let us fight it over so we destroy ourselves for ever.
the last thing we have working for us is our banking system but with all the bankruptcies going on, I wonder how much this banking system will last.
