The Internal Security Forces Intelligence Branch arrested on Tuesday the suspected kidnapper of taxi driver Joseph al-Khawli earlier this month, the state-run National News Agency reported.

NNA identified the suspect as L. Jaafar.

It said the man kidnapped al-Khawli on April 3 and had plotted for another abduction.

The news agency did not provide the details of his arrest.

Conflicting reports emerged last week on the release of the taxi driver.

NNA said the man was set free in the Deir Ammar region of northern Lebanon after the payment of a $12,000 ransom.

But his family denied in comments to LBCI TV that it had any information about his release.

This guy should be hanged in downtown at dawn. The only way to teach those outlaws that kidnapping is not a business is to hit hard.
