3 Hizbullah Fighters Die in Blast at 'Old Ammo Depot' in Bekaa's Nabi Sheet

Three Hizbullah fighters were killed and several other people wounded on Wednesday in a blast at a depot for old ammunition in the Bekaa town of Nabi Sheet, the party's media relations department said in a statement.

“The blast happened at a storehouse for old shells and ammunition and the remnants of the Israeli attacks on the area,” said the statement.

Army Rescues Kidnapping Victim from Trunk of Car in Tripoli

The Lebanese army said on Monday that it arrested four people for kidnapping a man after forcing him into the trunk of a car in the northern city of Tripoli.

A communique issued by the army command said: “An army patrol in Corniche al-Mina on Sunday stopped a suspicious vehicle with four people on board after they tried to flee.”

Judicial Police Patrol Ambushed in Baalbek, Sergeant Killed

Gunmen killed a Sergeant from the judicial police overnight Thursday and wounded two others following an ambush that targeted their patrol in Baalbek.

Internal Security Forces general directorate issued a communique saying: “After the patrol detained two suspects, it was ambushed in al-Sharawneh neighborhood (in Baalbek) by gunmen who killed head of the patrol Sergeant Ali Nasrallah and wounded two others.”

Security Forces Complete Destruction of Cannabis Fields in Central Bekaa

The Internal Security Forces completed on Tuesday the destruction of cannabis crops in the central Bekaa.

The operations, held at the field of the town of al-Allaq in the Baalbek province, took place under the supervision of the Lebanese army given the attack the ISF came under on Monday as it was destroying other cannabis fields.

Report: Hizbullah Prevents Army from Entering Nabi Sheet to Arrest Wanted Suspects

Clashes erupted last week between the army and wanted suspects in the Baalbek district after it attempted to arrest a suspect from the Masri family, reported the daily An Nahar on Tuesday.

He managed to make it to the town of Nabi Sheet upon which the army made the necessary contacts with Hizbullah officials, since it is a party stronghold, in order to be allowed to storm the house that was harboring Masri, but it was barred from doing so, it added.

Two members of the same family were killed and another man was injured in the eastern city of Baalbek at dawn Tuesday when a former convict opened fire on them over an old dispute.

Voice of Lebanon radio station (93.3) said that Mohammed Shuqair, who was released from prison 48 hours ago, shot at Internal Security Forces Sergeant Mohammed Aqid Solh and Mohammed Baqbouq Solh from his Nissan Sunny, killing them instantly.

Three Lebanese army soldiers were injured at dawn Tuesday during a raid to arrest wanted criminals in al-Sharawina neighborhood of the eastern city of Baalbek, the army command said.

It said in a communiqué that a gunfight erupted when the armed men took refuge in the house of a female lawyer whom it identified with her initials as L.J.
