Maronite Patriarch Beshara al-Rahi on Sunday said neutrality would “restore Lebanon’s historic role as a bridge between the East and the West at the cultural, economic and commercial levels.”

Doctor Firass Abiad, head of the main public hospital treating COVID-19 patients in Lebanon, warned Sunday that the country is on the brink of “losing control” in its battle against the coronavirus pandemic, a day after it saw its highest daily tally since the first case was recorded on February 21.
