"Foreign Minister Jebran Bassil warned on Monday of a plot to keep Syrian refugees in Lebanon for a long time."

please, provide details of such plot and in which comic book did you read it.

"These terrorists are then traveling from Lebanon to other countries where they carry out their attacks, he added."

How are they traveling... through the airport I assume... why don't you arrest them if you know who they are.

Thumb EagleDawn 13:41 ,2014 آذار 24

lol.... Syria is not Israel. The Syrians have a country and they will go back to it when the security situation permits. You sure are full of it.

Missing coolmec 14:06 ,2014 آذار 24

Popeye
The Syrians are in Lebanon on a long term basis during which time most will assimilate in the country. Think about it during peace time in Syria the Syrians were in Lebanon let alone now when their country is destroyed and they are destitute. So yes they are in Lebanon for a long haul

eagledawn: Hariri and our heroic president Hwari, nationalised 400,000 Syrians and Palastinians in the mid 1990s. Syria was a peaceful country back then no? Many of the same syrians that the mustaqbul followers are now allied with and help nationalise are the same that were persecuted after the assassination of Hariri in 2005. Do you know how many syrians were murdered and expelled in lebanon during that time?

Point is, we are all very fickle with short memories. the solution is respect for all refugees and their immediate relocation to other countries that can afford them and are supporting this war... Turkey, KSA and Qatar, where are you? Imagine 20 million refugees in Turkey or 6 million in KSA? This is what lebanon is facing. 1 in 4 is a syrian refugee in a country of 4 million people. plus the 60,000 iraqis and 400,000 palestinians!

Thumb ex-fpm 15:03 ,2014 آذار 24

ado.australia, saying that hariri and hrawi nationalized 400,000 syrians does not make it fact. Either prove it or I suggest you stop spreading propaganda. No prime minister has the authority to nationalize even a sri lankan maid. It is the council of ministers i,e the cabinet that has to approve any such decision.

'Hariri and our heroic president Hwari, nationalised 400,000 Syrians and Palastinians in the mid 1990s.'

prove it or stop ur demographic BS propaganda.
Almost all christian and shias palestinians got citizenship. Lots of lebanese alawites in Akkar have been in Lebanon for less than 50 years. I wont even speak about the armenians...

Thumb ado.australia 16:34 ,2014 آذار 24

cedre...you want me to prove it but at the same time admit that "Almost all christian and shias palestinians got citizenship."

Firstly there are hardly any shiite Palestinians. 90% of the nationalised foreigners were sunni, 5% were Christian Palestinians and 5% were allawites which are now residing in Jabel el Mashen in Tripoli! This is well know by most Lebanese. I cannot "prove" this fact, but I can provide many published articles and most "Lebanese" will know of this truth.

Armenians were given citizenship before the establishment of the republic of Lebanon. Many of the Iraqi refugees are Christian. Its not about religion... Lebanon is too small and poor to accept anymore refugees my friend. Stop taking sides... be Lebanese first and your religion and sect should be personal!

Default-user-icon Hanin Albairuti (ضيف) 17:14 ,2014 آذار 24

Ado and Cedre, you are both partially right. First of all, there is no Palestinian shia community nor are there any palestinian alawites. If you ever were to find a palestinian shia then he would be a recent convert or from a family who came from palestine and settled in lebanon a long time ago amongst shia and converted before lebanon became independant. The alawites are mostly from syrian origin and some are lebanese. As for the citizenship, most Palestinian christians got lebanese citizenship early on, long before the hariri era and it was clearly out of secterian reasons at that time. Later on Hariri naturalized RICH palestinians while the poor ones were kept in the camp without a chance to even work themselves up to middle class economy. And there are Palestinian muslim families who got lebanese citizenship because they came to lebanon before independance.

Thumb cedre 17:36 ,2014 آذار 24

ado, dont expect people to believe ur propaganda without any kind of evidence.
Now, i'll tell u something, if sunnis wanted to play the demographics game against shias or christians, they wouldn't give palestinian citizenship, we would just marry them and basta, capichi ?

Thumb Mrowwe 20:30 ,2014 آذار 24

Ado and Cedre (the real one without the dot), you are both partially right. However there is no Palestinian shia community nor any Palestinian alawite community so i dont know where you guys got that from. There has never been any Palestinian shia or alawite community. As for the naturalization, most Palestinian Christian refugees were naturalized early on, long before the Rafik Hariri era and it was clearly due to secterian reasons back then. During the Hariri era, only RICH Palestinian Muslims were naturalized while the poor ones were left in the camps banned from work and a normal life. Those who think Hariri naturalized Sunnis for religious reasons are misstaken. At the end of the day, the man was a capitalist who worked with people of money regardless of their ethnicity or religion. He was neither the hero that m14 considers him to be nor the "secterian villain" that m8 portray consider him to be.

Thumb Senescence 14:43 ,2014 آذار 25

@Southern : we can thank HA for the influx of refugees. At this rate, you will soon be invaded in Dahyé and they will strip you off from your weapons and shoot you all with it ! Well deserved will that be !

You want to stop the influx of refugees ? Stop being a reason for them to flee the country.

Thumb FlameCatcher 16:29 ,2014 آذار 24

@FD : HA has nothing to do with the war in Syria except being mercenaries for Bashar !

@FC : If you truly believe Syrians fled FSA / ISL / Nusra, take a Hezbollah flag and go for a walk in any Syrian camp in Lebanon and give away candy to children. We will see the warm welcome you will receive ! I DARE YOU !

And again, HA did not start the war in Syria nor has any reasons to participate in it. If Bashar is strong as they claim, then he doesn't need their help. Otherwise, Hezbollah is only fighting to save Bashar and not for all the LIES that Hassan Kezballah vomits on TV !

in democratic countries they only take 2.5 % of their population as aliens ie(refugees, legal and unlegal emigration),...
lets stick to these numbers and let the refugees in Lebanon be the same as usa , france , great Britain , ....

Default-user-icon Ali (ضيف) 14:46 ,2014 آذار 24

Yes let everyone follow these numbers but only until the lebanese need help, then everyone MUST open their borders and let them in. Check crime statistics of lebanese in countries where they were let it, they are rocket high despite the fact that their host countries gave them EVERYTHING. Lebanese have given next to nothing to their refugees, it´s the UN and the Arab states that have, yet you keep pretending like you have given them everything. If your worried about the numbers, then why dont you call back the millions of the lebanese living in the diaspora and tell them to move to lebanon?

anonymetexasusa... my friend... my village in the metn, was taken over by the Druze in 1984. It is 80% Christian and it wasn't until 1994 that Christians felt safe enough to begin to return. Still to this day, there are Christian villages in the chouf that are empty... 23 years after the end of the lebanese civil war! Please dont be so ignorant or dismissive of the fear that these people have experienced. They decapitated Christians for being "crusaders". The al nusra kidnapped nuns! Forgive them for not returning for the 3rd time.

check out this BBC report.
http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=XZmls_mPcfw

Their are many more youtube videos to answer your question about Maaloula anonymetexasusa! Please make the time to watch them.

Thumb ado.australia 18:00 ,2014 آذار 24

so why have the Christians of maaloula not returned to their village? the assad forces took back the village after the bbc report. But months later the al nusra re attacked the village, and retook the village for the 3rd time. even though this village has no military strategic position except that it is Christian and they then took the nuns as hostage. Why are you defending them? Why are you justifying their kidnapping of the syrian and lebanese nuns?

My point is what makes you think that the native christain population that has now escaped to damascus would be so eager to return to maalula? You are allied with the wrong side... they would decapitate you in a second for being an infidel!
