Disgusting. We have to wait for the goodwill of a foreign cheikh to operate our democracy, the oldest in the middle east, Thank you Saad for putting us here and thank you Hassan too.
You are both despicable.

Saad isnt really to blame its pretty much all of these politicians we have and HA

Missing coolmec 10:48 ,2013

@ lebanon_first
please don't blame Saad or any other Lebanese political leader. Rather, blame the Lebanese people who knows that ALL Lebanese leaders are corrupt and under the control of a foreign power. Yet we keep electing and reelecting them. Besides our parliamentary system is hereditary as seats are passed on from father to son, grand son namely Joumblatt, Gemayel, Hariri, Frangie to name a few.
WAKE UP LEBANESE PEOPLE!!!

@ banima3roof
No my friend I did not forget Aoun or Berry. I did say ALL and just named a few. I am at a loss of understanding how we, Lebanese claim to be democratic and a progressive yet we maintain the worst and the most regressive system of government in our country. What would it take to see the Lebanese people voting out ALL our current corrupt leaders and replacing them by genuine ethical leaders truly representative of the Lebanese.
I keep dreaming huh.......

Coolmec I agree totally with you.

Sounds like Jumblatt was snubbed big time during this visit. Perhaps it is because of KSA impatience with his constantly changing stances. Or perhaps, and more scary, the KSA is shifting its focus from influencing M14 and affiliates towards a push for regime change in Syria and then controlling Lebanon through the new regime. While any leader other than Assad will be a big plus for Lebanon, we also need to be careful that this plan does not include a wide scale migration of Syrians to Lebanon in order to overpower M8 through sheer numbers. This would not be a win for us at M14 because M14 would not even exist any more, nor would a true Lebanese state.

Proudlebanon.
Your scenario is armageddon... I dont think it applies.

Hopefully. We have 1 million Syrians running around unsupervised and up to all sorts of trouble.

KSA is the main player in the Middle Eastern affairs. KSA is a wise and rational broker of peace and stability in the Middle East, its king is not only wise, he's also compassionate and lovable not only by his people but also by all the people in the Arab world. KSA only has the best of Lebanon in its heart. And at different occasions it had manifested that in its actions. the arab world might be passing through difficult time, but its peace will soon be established and prosperity will prevail all over.

Thumb lebanon_first 14:48 ,2013 آب 17

trueself.
You are right concerning KSA when king Abdallah was controlling the game.
Today you have an adventurer called Bandar who is calling the shots.
Well meaning wise KSA is not for granted anymore.

You don't have to forget that the KSA is also passing through period where its stability is derived from the stability of the ME region and hence it's right to say that it should act accordingly to secure its peace. Unlike Iran, the KSA strives to respect the sovreignty and stability of each country in the ME region. Iran, though, wants to create troubles and is fomenting troubles in a region it has nothing to do in it. We are Arab and know what's good for us as Arab. They are not Arabs and should not put their noses into our affairs. It's exactly like the vatican which supports the Christians but never foment troubles where they live.

Thumb jabal10452 15:30 ,2013 آب 17

Maybe,maybe...but I don't want my country to be controlled by anybody, whether Beduin, Nsayré, American or French. Is it asking too much?

Thumb lebanon_first 16:18 ,2013 آب 17

Jabal a whole generation of Christians Lebanese are educated and are influenced by the west only insofar as human rights go.
Lebanese Sunnis have been sent to college by hariri hence have an allegiance to him and his patron even to the detriment of Lebanon.you have to wait for on more generation for this feeling to be replaced by a genuine feeling of patriotism from the Sunnis.
As for the Shiites, their basic needs are being attempted to by the party if Iran, hence their allegiance. They till need to get an education to liberate themselves from getting to be controlled by foreign powers.

As a Christian Lebanese, i don't think that the KSA is controlling Lebanon. The KSA appreciates the role the Lebanese had played in benefiting the Arab world. The KSA wants Lebanon to be a peacon of preponderance and a place of peace. There's no harm in having friends like the Saudis. As to the baduen issues, I simply disagree with this characterization; the Saudis are becoming more and more educated and in certain areas have surpassed us. portraying them as baduens doesn't reflect nicely on us. after all, many Lebanese, including myself, have worked and associated with the saudis and have established friendships with them. They are a proud nation and have always held the Lebanese in high esteem.

well said trueself, even if some christian/shia sunni-killers are not going to accept it here.

Thumb beiruti 16:08 ,2013

Yes, no one cares for you. You run to KSA, but they are busy with their own affairs and cannot trifle themselves with you and your acrobatic dance performed to gain advantage in a small insignificant country as Lebanon has become. When you stop allowing interlopers like Hezbollah usurp real power in your country, maybe the rest of the world will listen to you. But as long as you are complicit with Hezbollah by your acquiescence in their conduct, then you will visit foreign capitals, be sat down in the "green room" to tap your fingers, drink your bottle of water, and wait.
