An Iranian Parliamentary delegation is expected to arrive in Lebanon on Tuesday on a four-day official visit to discuss with senior Lebanese officials means to help security agencies in their confrontation with uncontrolled terrorism.

According to al-Joumhouria newspaper, the Chairman of the Iranian Parliament's National Security and Foreign Policy Committee Alaeddin Boroujerdi will head the delegation.

The delegation will arrive in Lebanon coming from Syria.

On Monday, Iranian Ambassador to Lebanon Ghazanfar Roknabadi reiterated after talks with Foreign Minister Jebran Bassil that his country is ready to contribute with any kind of aid to Lebanon in its war against terrorism.

Lebanon witnessed a string of of bomb attacks in recent months targeting mainly strongholds of Hizbullah, which has drawn the ire of Sunni extremist groups in part because of its role fighting alongside the regime in Syria.

On Saturday, the latest attack a suicide bomber blew up a car rigged with explosives at an army checkpoint at the entrance to Hermel, in an attack that was claimed by a group calling itself al-Nusra Front in Lebanon, an apparent offshoot of the Syria-based extremist organization.

THis is so hypocritical.

From the one hand Iranian pretend to care, from the other, they finance their 1B dollar a year milicia to get us involved in every single conflict in the region and to undermine our beloved country.

Why dont they go and put their foot in Bahrain or even the UAE? Why cant WE be all about economy and growth? why cant they get other countries to protect assad, liberate jerusalem and ressucitate Elvis?

You know very well that the Iranian Islamic Revolution needs Hizbullah as much as Assad to continue existing and exert a dictatorship regime domestically.

Thumb geha 25 February 2014, 08:46

return to iran and take your terrorist militia with you, and we will not have terrorism.

we got to know terrorism better with your Iranian terrorist militia.

Iranian Delegation in Lebanon to Discuss Confrontation of Terrorism ...............
This is so easy. Disband the military of wing HA and have all Lebanese unite to do the same with all other Militants (including Palestinians and Takfiris). Seal the borders with Syria.

Thumb general_puppet 25 February 2014, 08:48

If the Iranians want to "contribute" to Lebanon, all they have to do is order their militia to get out of Syria and let the LAF take control of the Lebanese border.

Iran can confront terrorism by having their subordinates submit to authorities the 4 "saints" who have been indicted, based on evidence, in the assassination of Rafik Hariri.

And they can also confront terrorism by having their subordinates submit to authorities the "saint" implicated in the attempted murder of Harb.

What is this, Salafist jihadist parade day? Constant barking from February 14 Al Qaeda sympathizers, as usual. The tears have not dried yet from the loss of their beloved bin Laden, lol.

Karim_m2

I would like & hope to see from you a little bit more sagacious
But rather what I see here is the opposite

Thumb Kalzyturks 25 February 2014, 10:31

Not every one that is against the idea of interference in Lebanon from outside countries be it Iran or Saudi is a terrorist karim_m2.

This shows you the strength of nationalism.

What happens over the border should not be you or my problem.

To be involved in regional conflicts is not in the interest of our nation.

So please stop labelling everyone a terrorist. If they don't agree.

Sorry Southern, Iran has no business in Lebanon, the war is in Syria, it might as well send 1000s and 1000s of its troops there with tanks, rockets and airpower, and soon it will beat the Takfiris into total defeat. As usual, Iran prods, pushes and send us into combat, but much of the time it is nowhere to be seen. I see Iran's presence here as interference and I definitely reject it. It can now go home, or to Syria where the real deal is, not here.

Thumb Kalzyturks 25 February 2014, 12:41

I hope you don't treat me as siding with the enemy. I'm only trying to be rational here.

Does that mean we allow countries like Iran or Saudi to interfere with Lebanon's internal affairs.

Do we really need money from these countries. If Lebanon chooses a neutral stance internationally with a allied united government we won't need a resistance nor an enemy on either side of the borders.

It's not about the under armed LAF but how the Lebanese government deals with issues diplomatically is the solution.

Stop dealing with the historic past & trying to connect it with today's political arena it does not help.

No country Iran or Saudi should not & will not implement their 12 century ideology in Lebanon.

Their really is no minorities in Lebanon. Christians have the same rights as Muslims respectfully. & so do the smaller minorities.

In regards to compulsion southern. If your Muslim.

Surah 2:256

"There is no compulsion in religion".

Thumb Kalzyturks 25 February 2014, 13:15

I understand I have the same concern.
But Lebanon is not Iraq or Syria. Ruled by a family or one sect.

Lebanon has a different constitution giving equal rights to all groups.

Yes its up to our leaders who represent us & who were elected as our leaders.

There is nothing to worry about if "our leaders" keep away from regional conflicts. Taking a neutral stance.

That is the best solution.

There us no threat but the threat is due to our incompetent government and own actions of independent groups.

Thumb -phoenix1 25 February 2014, 13:42

You're right Southern, I cannot disagree with you on this point, it's absolutely true, but this is why I keep insisting that the help from the Iranians needs to be focused on the onus of the problem or the conflict if you will, in Syria. If Iran puts is real weight there, then this war will be over a lot shorter. Thanks for your response bro.

The sunni and shia joined the palestinians in 1975. Both wanted a Pan-Arab country here. The Sunni through Nasserism, and Shia the greater Syria. The Shia BELT from Iran to South Irak to South Syria to South Lebanon is made since several years. HA fights in Syria those who fight this belt. Sunnis want their belt from Arabia to Turkey. When Iran sends anybody, to them it is their secondary residence. Why are the Lebanese surprised ?
We never had a civil war in Leb. We had a group who wanted to join other arab countries and a group who wanted independence.
Who wanted 10452 sq/km ? ...The dead !

Thumb FlameCatcher 25 February 2014, 13:55

So Iranians create Hezbollah, a terrorist organisation. They force them to fight in Syria against other terrorists. Those other terrorist hit back in Hezbollah's own turf which also happens to be our country. And they want to help us confront "terrorism" ?

The solution to the problem is not confronting terrorism ! You cannot fight terrorists. It's an enemy without a face. The only way to put an end to it is not to get involved with them in the first place ! And to avoid providing "excuses" and "reasons" for them to hit back, to recruit and brainwash hopeless idiots who have nothing more to lose !

That's like saying a delegation from a communist country is here to discuss the confrontation of communism..
