LF Holds Bassil Responsible for Lineup Delayإقرأ هذا الخبر بالعربية
The Lebanese Forces blamed Foreign Minister, Free Patriotic Movement chief Jebran Bassil for the "entire" obstacles hampering the government formation, mainly the Christian and Druze representation stalemate, al-Joumhouria daily reported.
LF sources told the daily: “It is normal to focus at the current stage on an expected meeting between Prime Minister-designate Saad Hariri and Bassil because the actual stalemate lies with Bassil.
“Bassil is responsible for the Christian and Druze obstacles, and responsible for all the obstacles that have surfaced and still surfacing. He bears the responsibility of keeping the country without a government to face challenges on more than one level,” the sources added on condition of anonymity.
“Hopefully, the Prime Minister-designate can persuade him, otherwise the country will remain without a government,” they said on Hariri’s expected meeting with Bassil.
Moreover, the sources reiterated the LF’s unwavering stance regarding their Cabinet shares in a way that reflects their representation and political size.
