Al-Hout Says al-Jamaa al-Islamiyah Arms Will be used if 'National Security is under Threat'

al-Jamaa al-Islamiyah MP Imad al-Hout slammed on Saturday those who are using sedition and sectarian rhetoric to create a rift between Lebanese.

“They will not succeed in their plan,” al-Hout said during a conference in Akkar.

He criticized the cabinet’s performance, stressing that it will “fall as soon as the Syrian regime collapses.”

Concerning the defense strategy, al-Hout stated that it’s unacceptable that a side controls the resistance.

“All the Lebanese people… should be under the state’s sovereignty,” he said.

Al-Hout unveiled that the group still has its al-Fajr Brigades – the armed branch of the group – noting that the resistance should not be controlled by a certain group.

He said that al-Jamaa al-Islamiyah will only use its arms if the national security was under threat, “the weapons should only be used against Israel and shouldn’t be targeted towards the Lebanese.".

Al-Hout urged officials to abide by the constitution and to fortify the army and the security forces “who are the only authorities assigned to protect the nation and the citizens.”

Al-Hout said that the Arab Spring will have a positive effect on Lebanon, criticizing the statements that “support some revolutions but condemn others.”

“All people have the right to live in dignity,” he stressed.

Thx al hout to confirm Ghosn statements on Al Qaida

A major mistake of the 14 march was to deny we do not have al qaidiste in lebanon. It seems one of their own allies just proved the contrary

if we take the logic of the hezb who pretends having arms to resist and defend lebanon, ""Jamaa Islamiyah will only use its arms if the “national security was under threat.”" which is the same purpose= defend the nation.

so if hezb is allowed then this armed group should also be as it is the same excuse they are using!

that is why all arms should go to the state! everyone can claim the same and arm itself so why forbid it as it is legal for one group!

this is the kind of logic that the hezb has created in lebanon...

Israel is not the enemy. Wake-up everybody. The enemy is within.
Does anybody have an agenda for peace instead of war?

@sweatin and smelling - I can try to accept your apologies of behalf of all the dumb people who invaded Beirut on the 7th of May, which is just another black day on your records in addition to theft, arson, money laundering, and drug distribution… well murder and bombing people has not been proved yet.
Don’t be bragging about the fact that you are street thugs as you should be ashamed.
When you pull a gun in the face of someone, because you don’t like the fact that a subject pertaining to a private communication channel held outside the norm of the government of the country you live in was brought up, you should be prosecuted and brought to justice.

I wonder you always mention Beirut and not the fight that took place with PSP, where you got your behinds kicked and you were shoveling your wounded and dead friends off the streets and into trucks.
So yes we want EVEYONE to turn their weapons in, but no one will until you do.
In anticipation to the idiot that calls everyone Zionist, I am from Beirut and that is where my loyalty sticks neither Tehran nor Syria.
Times are changing my friend, read between the lines. This time you got no one to keep you off the terrorism list, your regional allies are falling, I advise you to change your attitude and hope that we will have mercy once your weapons are surrendered because we will hold you accountable for all your misdeeds.
