Blinken Urges that Slim’s Killers 'be Brought to Swift Justice'

U.S. Secretary of State Antony Blinken has condemned the “heinous assassination” of prominent Lebanese activist Lokman Slim in southern Lebanon.

“We join the international community in calling for his killers to be brought to swift justice,” Blinken said in a statement.

“Mr. Slim devoted his life to bringing about positive change in Lebanon and bravely pushed for justice, accountability, and rule of law in his country,” he added.

The top U.S. diplomat stressed that it is “cowardly and unacceptable” to resort to violence, threats, and intimidation as “a means of subverting the rule of law or suppressing freedom of expression and civic activism.”

He added: “We urge Lebanese officials, including the judiciary and political leaders, to hold accountable those who commit such barbaric acts without delay or exception.”

Reward them and go back to the nuclear deal and end the sanctions on Iran so that Iran can send more money and weapons to the terrorist militia of Hezbollah. Democrats Foreign policy is bad for the Middle East.

Popular Revolt Puts Hizbullah under Rare Street Pressure
by Naharnet Newsdesk 22 October 2019, 08:28
Lokman Slim, an independent political activist and an outspoken critic of Hizbullah, said that resentment among Lebanon's Shiite community "is not born out of a single event or a single moment."
"Frustration has been fermenting over the past few years over an economic crisis hampering not just the Lebanese state but also Hizbullah's statelet."
I can't find mention on the internet of Slim calling for equal civil rights between Christians and Muslims (against Article 24's 50-50 split of Parliament}.
Nasrallah says "go ahead, curse me", so I don't think he'd now suddenly be filled with rage at Slim.
