Report: Bitar Refuses to Give Parliament More Info on Three MPs

The lead investigative judge into the Beirut port blast, Tarek al-Bitar, has informed Parliament Bureau his rejection to provide it with any additional documents related to the MPs Nouhad al-Mashnouq, Ghazi Zoaiter and Ali Hassan Khalil, al-Jadeed TV said on Monday.

“In a memo sent to Parliament Bureau, Bitar considered that he is not obliged to submit any additional documents regarding the three MPs, seeing as any additional info that he might give would compromise the confidentiality of the investigation,” al-Jadeed quoted judicial sources as saying.

The sources added that the judge has already sent parliament information explaining the suspicions about the three MPs, who had served as ministers in recent years.

when the previous judge Fadi Sawan started sniffing about Savaro Ltd a company owned by three Syrian national with close ties to the Assad regime he was replaced. I hope history doesn't repeat itself with this guy. Savaro Ltd shipped the stockpile of ammonium nitrate to Beirut port and was deregistered just as the shipment was tracked back to it less than a month before Sawan was removed.

Another judge who would be sacked soon. Hassan Nasrallah knows that his party is indirectly involved in the Nitrates procurement for the Syrian Assad to use it on his own people. Weren't they in direct charge of the port and know every single activity, never mind such large quantity of explosives? They will not let this judge reveal that, and hence, sacking is on the table mark my words. Huzbullah should only be a political party and not have arms that he threatens his own people with during election to remain on top. Otherwise, we would all be subjected to unwarranted troubles with the international community and will one day starve and maybe vanish as a nation.
