Hizbullah: Situation in Lebanon Must Return to Normal as Soon as Possible

Hizbullah stressed on Friday the need for a productive government that can help alleviate the burdens of the Lebanese people, reported the National News Agency.

Hizbullah politburo member Ghaleb Abu Zainab stated: “It is therefore important for the governmental process to return to normal as soon as possible because its current paralysis will harm the Lebanese people.”

He made his statements after a Hizbullah politburo delegation held talks with the Tashnag party at its Bourj Hammoud headquarters.

Abu Zainab continued: “We are also in agreement that stability in Lebanon is crucial and it therefore requires all political parties to cooperate to maintain it and distance the country from any foreign influences.”

Addressing Hizbullah and Tashnag party efforts to ease the tensions between Prime Minister Najib Miqati and Free Patriotic Movement leader MP Michel Aoun, he remarked: “All sides should cooperate to overcome this current phase and restore normalcy in Lebanon.”

Asked why Hizbullah is not exerting efforts to resume the national dialogue, Abu Zainab replied: “We are working for dialogue and we are open to all sides.”

The party has held talks with the majority of the political and spiritual powers in Lebanon, including the Maronite Patriarchate, which is aimed at asserting national unity, he added.

“We have not shut the door to holding talks with any side,” he said in response to question on whether Hizbullah would bolster ties with the Mustaqbal Movement.

“We are prepared to meet with all sides and therefore contacts are ongoing with all powers,” he continued.

“We believe that the recent developments at cabinet were a result of differences in opinion,” said the Hizbullah official.

“This dispute can be overcome and rectified through good intentions and all sides will return to cabinet to continue what we started together,” stressed Abu Zainab.

On Wednesday, Miqati suspended a cabinet session at the Baabda Palace over an ongoing dispute over the issue of administrative appointments.

The suspension was prompted when FPM ministers walked out from the session.

He consequently decided to suspend all cabinet sessions until the dispute with the FPM is resolved.

“The move is meant to push everyone to act responsibly and use their energy positively, towards the smooth run of state affairs not the opposite,” the prime minister said on his Twitter account on Wednesday.

A dispute between President Michel Suleiman and Aoun over shares allotted to Christians has prevented consensus over administrative appointments, leaving several high-ranking posts vacant.

We killed so many politicians in Lebanon, we trampled on the constitution and blackmailed at gunpoint our political opponents, stole electricity, public property, challenged and ridiculed the state at every opportunity, exported terror to neighbouring countries and beyond, but we're in Government.....we're the Government....so let's go back to business as usual ..........Spit!!!! The best option for Lebanon, is major calamity, like a 9 on Richter scales with a Tsunami and 500'000 of our people so they may wake up from their selfish and personal interests and start building a functional government that has the interest of the country first. We as people from our early days of civilization we look out for help from outside our borders. I ask every Lebanese citizen are you not tiered of having your basic needs attended to, in plain English (electricity, healthcare, water, schools, and most importantly social security for our elderly). Or are we so worried about our self image, having to drive a Benz for show off. I say every clergy, Christian or Muslim in Lebanon should be deported along our so politicians who in fact are war lords that they supported the Cedar revolution to secure their status in the Lebanese fffff".."........... System.

Situation in Lebanon goes back to normal only after all parties surrender their weapons to the government, and all parties start respecting the law. This starts with Hizbullah arms, but doesn't stop there, it should include the Palestinian factions, and all the other Lebanese parties and individuals who have weapons!

If Hizballah disarms, Lebanon would be the best country on Mars. Get real. Lebanon was always screwed up, and always will be. You wanted your independence from the french, what did that get you? You wanted your independence from Syria, still not right, now going after Hizballah, I hope they disarm, maybe you will wake up and see, you will always have problems. I guess all our problems in Lebanon came from Iran. What a bunch of retards.
