EU condemns Bint Jbeil strike, urges support for Lebanon's efforts

The EU has condemned the Israeli drone strike that killed several civilians including children on Sunday in southern Lebanon’s Bint Jbeil, noting that the incident followed an “escalation” of Israeli attacks and evacuation warnings.

“The EU reiterates its call for the full respect and implementation of the ceasefire agreement between Lebanon and Israel. Security concerns should be addressed by making full use of the monitoring mechanism established in the framework of the ceasefire agreement,” it said in a statement.

“The decisive efforts by the Government of Lebanon aiming at establishing the monopoly of the State on holding weapons should be supported by all,” the EU added.
