Prime Minister Najib Miqati said Thursday that political and security stability is the basis for the success of his government’s economic plan and vowed to announce more projects.

At the opening of the Saudi-Lebanese Economic Forum at the Phoenicia hotel in Beirut, Miqati said: “Our government has announced and will announce more economic steps to improve the investment environment and attract Arab investments.”

“Our economy preserved growth because we hold onto its freedom,” he said. “The preservation of security and political stability maintains our economic plans.”

He stressed the friendly relations between Lebanon and Saudi Arabia, saying the support of the kingdom and King Abdullah helped the country “reach safe shores.”

Miqati also said that Saudi Arabia has opened its doors to the Lebanese.

He finally hoped that the Arab Spring would reflect positively on the economy of Arab countries and Lebanon.

Yes yes Nagib....let them come tro make easy money by speculating on useless real estate project. This is very good for the economy. In the meantime we leave the country because there is no way for us to make a decent living in a "free" economy targeting people with capital without encouraging them to invest in productive sectors. Bravo Nagig keep on the good work ... You had a golden opportunity to make a change...who had people you should have allied with in your government and you pushed them to resign. You failed Nagib, you failed miserably ....like all prime ministers (at least since Rafic came to power)
