Aoun condemns Iranian attacks on Kuwait and Bahrain
President Joseph Aoun has followed the developments regarding the Iranian attacks that targeted Bahrain and Kuwait on Wednesday, saying the strikes are “a blatant violation of the sovereignty and territorial integrity of both countries, and a flagrant breach of international law and the Charter of the United Nations,” the Presidency said.
Accordingly, Aoun expressed “Lebanon's full solidarity with the Kingdom of Bahrain, the State of Kuwait, and the Gulf Cooperation Council countries in general,” emphasizing that “the security of these countries is an integral part of Arab and regional security.”
The president reiterated his call for “restraint and de-escalation,” urging “the prioritization of dialogue and diplomacy in the interest of the region's security, stability and the well-being of its people.”
