Report: Damascus to Deal with Lebanon According to New Conditions

Syrian President Bashar Assad stressed on Tuesday that his country will deal according to its conditions with the Lebanese political powers, al-Akhbar newspaper reported on Wednesday.

“Damascus will deal according to its conditions with the Lebanese political powers,” Assad told a senior Syrian opposition figure.

According to the daily, Assad hinted to the opposition figure that the “Syrian interests will have its weight in these ties.”

The Syrian president stressed that his country will establish new bilateral ties with the Lebanese authority according to new standards.

Lebanon has disassociated itself from the crisis in the neighboring country, sparking controversy among the pro- and anti-regime supporters in the country.

The Syrian authorities have reportedly breached the Lebanese border several times since the beginning of the revolt in March 2011.

On the local situation, Assad said he is keen to maintain the current date of the parliamentary elections in May.

However, he said that he would consider a request by the parliament to delay the ballots due to technical difficulties, the opposition figure stated.

Assad stated that the Syrian crisis is still at its “beginning,” noting that the international stance is becoming more positive.

In March, Assad announced that the parliamentary election will take place on May 7.

The elections would be the third time a legislative vote has taken place in Syria since Assad came to power in 2000, but the first under a multiparty system as authorized under the new law.

Violence has continued across Syria despite an April 12 cease fire and the deployment of U.N. monitors.

"Syrian President Bashar Assad stressed on Tuesday that his country will deal according to its conditions with the Lebanese political powers, al-Akhbar newspaper reported on Wednesday."

So differently than shooting them or blowing them up?

However, he said that he would consider a request by the parliament to delay the ballots due to technical difficulties ...

ie : If he thought that he cannot forge the election to get 99 % of the seats he will ask the parliament to issue a request to delay the ballots due to technical difficulties

What an arrogant prick! Not only he massacres his own population, torture them, jail them, make them disapear, but that soon will not be enough, so he will start again to do it in Lebanon where the "resistance" will turn into the "collabos" and help... Where are we going my friends... where?

Missing peace 25 April 2012, 13:52

why? they never dealt with lebanon according to their conditions with the support of their collaborators in lebanon?

Thumb Chupachups 25 April 2012, 13:53

so... is that a threat?

Default-user-icon Snatch (Guest) 25 April 2012, 14:08

the way he dealt with the terrorist Hamza el khatib.
Or with the lebanese army soldiers deserted by general Speedy Gonzales

Missing peace 25 April 2012, 15:12

oh! i guess you ll kick out the majority of M8 too who collaborated actively with the assad regime and still are....
hypocrisy at its best!

Default-user-icon leoussi (Guest) 25 April 2012, 15:29

And M8 supporters say that the west interefers in Lebanese internal politics? what do you call that? its good he is not massacring us like he is doing to his own people.

Candle Thrower/Kasir-rasak/etc. pack it up dude and go to HA's blog. I think they have a special on hairless goats that I know you fancy.... :-)

Thumb jcamerican 25 April 2012, 15:53

Did you get yourself a hairless goat as a companion? Hope you didn't get screwed big time.

Thumb bigsami 25 April 2012, 20:47

Note that I don't bring family into discussion unlike someone who obviously had no manners, education and refinement. These are typical traits of the likes of HA's followers/worshipers....and that my friend is why we can't have Lebanon ruled by such low-life.

Missing peace 25 April 2012, 15:54

"the biggest organized governmental robbery case in history."

hahahaha!!!! i guess if your M8 friends had any evidence apart from barking they would have already sent the culprits to jail no?
but you always forget to mention that YOUR friends too took part in the debt, and that AOUN said that the syrians stole mostly the lebanese treasure...so stop your typical scapegoat arguments.
(reminds me of hitler s arguments that jews were the ones guilty of the bad german economy, except here you replace them with hariri and sinioura!!)

short memory huh?!!! or i guess that aoun is a liar and you never had any minister till this year governing the country!!!
soooooooooooooo funny
thx for the laugh!

Thumb bigsami 25 April 2012, 15:58

BINGO Candle Thrower....you hit the nail head on in your own words >>> just ran out of 'arguments'. This is where we separate the adults from the juveniles.....none of us here look to 'argue' except for one lame poster that finds it amusing.

from 1991 till 2009 we had 4 major wars all started by Hizbollah, each of which cost the treasury billions of dollars, in addition, we have one third of the population not paying their electric bills, adding to the major losses incurred by EDL - and passed on to the treasury, and finally, there is also the absent state employees who collect their monthly paycheck and dont show up to work. this all adds up.

So if you add up all the development thats occured around the country, add in the EDL deficits and war damage costs, you will find your 44 billions.

FT, you are losing it dude...take a chill pill, no need for insulting everyone to prove a losing point? have some OJ and cool down! just tell me do you still live at home with mamma and pappa? nothing wrong with that just asking bro?

Missing peace 25 April 2012, 19:05

what FT is showing is that he doesn t know how to read and it seems he quit school early...

what YOU are saying is that only two men stole the whole country! and want people to believe this LIE...
what you forget to say ALWAYS is that YOUR friends also stole the gvt and YOUR friends the syrians stole the major part of it!
what you want people to believe is that M8 is clean and only 2 men did all this!!
and i NEVER said their was no debt...
and AOUN is no more throwing the blame on syrians but on M14..like you are
see how illogic and liar you are?

and stop insulting people it only shows how LOW you are...typical M8 who has no arguments...

Missing peace 25 April 2012, 19:07

learn how to read first instead of wanting me to say things i am not saying... to support your hate of those against you.

Thumb Lebanon4life 25 April 2012, 20:14

Ya Bashar you won't deal with anyone you filthy pig. The only one you are going to deal with is the Syrian people demanding their freedom. Just wait, maybe it is matter of time but you and your family will be soon punished for what you did to Lebanon and to Syria !!!!

Missing realist 25 April 2012, 21:29

Assad: Syrian crisis is still at its “beginning,”!!!! I thought you said the crisis was OVER months ago, especialy after your 'victory' in baba amr. I thought jihad maqdasi and the ministery of defense said the war was over!?!? Aoun said 'next tuesday'. The crisis will probably be over with assad's dead body and it will be due in large part to his horrible iq lol.

6B to 44B ... Due to Syrian and collaborator theft during the 29 year occupation... FT read and experience history like i experienced it in Lebanon... Ok little boy.

I gave you thumbs up for the part dealing with Assad sticking to Syria and keeping his nose out of Lebanon (thanks for that position). I wish you left Hariri out of it since it was Hariri's blood that resulted in the Cedar Revolution and the subsequent withdrawal of the Syrian army.
