One Killed in Israeli Airstrike Near Gaza City

One Palestinian was killed and two people were wounded in an Israeli airstrike on Wednesday which targeted a Hamas training ground near Gaza City, medical officials said.

"One person has been killed and two injured in the airstrike," emergency services spokesman Adham Abu Selmiya said in a statement.

He had earlier told AFP two people had been killed, and attributed the confusion to the number of body parts found at a training ground in Zeitun, east of Gaza City.

Witnesses said the air strike hit the Abu Jaarad training camp which was used by the Hamas security forces.

The Israeli army had no immediate comment on the incident, which came shortly after Gaza militants fired a projectile into southern Israel, causing no damage or injuries.
