Syrian Rockets Hit Jordan, Wound Child

Jordan said on Sunday four rockets fired from neighboring Syria fell inside its northern border area, wounding a young girl and sparking a letter of protest.

"A young girl was injured on Sunday after four rockets fell on an area near the border with Syria as a result of clashes inside Syria," Information Minister and government spokesman Samih Maaytah told Agence France Presse without elaborating.

"We are in touch with the Syrian sides to determine what happened," he said without indicating the source of the fire.

"The Jordanian government summoned the Syrian ambassador in Amman and gave him a letter of protest. Jordan rejects what happened and will make sure it does not occur in the future," Maaytah said.

Qassem Mayyas, head of the Ramtha Hospital, told AFP: "The four-year-old girl left hospital after being treated for minor head injuries."

Zayed Hammad, head of the prominent Jordanian Ketab and Sunnah charity which cares for more than 50,000 Syrian refugees near the border, said the rockets fell on Torrah border village, "injuring several people."

"The Jordanian army sealed off the entire area," he told AFP.

Jordan currently hosts more than 150,000 Syrian refugees. Many of them come under Syrian army fire as they flee to the kingdom, whose troops provide covering fire.

But why do they still have an ambassador in amman? Why werent he kicked out??? Dont be fooled, the bedouins are not rjel in anyway, they are just afraid of the ikhwen gaining power in jordan. They didnt even accuse the syrian regime for this, they probably consider it from the FSA and wanted to tell thw regime to be tuffer in order to protect the FSA missiles from reaching jordan.

Jordan: Four rockets= letter of protest and summoning the ambassador
Lebanon: Hundreds of rockets, raiding of houses, journalists shot at and killed, people injured, people displaced, houses destroyed etc etc= nothing, not a squeek...
Tfeh!

Not really. If it respects itself then it would not be dictated by US orders and it would summon violations by "israel" which every day violates it. This summoning of the syrian ambassador only happened because it wouldnt upset the US. Indeed lebanon has not respected itself but lets not start praising a bunch of bedouins who did not act on selfrespect at all. They are not better than us.

Hoping for an embarassing defeat for bachar and his shabbi7a in syria and lebanon.
