Madi Requests MP Saqr Recordings from Various Media Outlets for Investigation

General Prosecutor Judge Hatem Madi requested on Monday the recordings of interviews and a press conference conducted by Mustaqbal MP Oqab Saqr in recent weeks, reported the National News Agency.

He ordered the recording of an interview he gave to al-Jadeed television on Sunday, a press conference broadcast on Future TV on Thursday, and the leaked audiotape with a Syrian rebel aired by OTV on November 29.

The judge requested the tapes in order to verify his claims.

Madi had tasked on Tuesday the Central Criminal Investigations Bureau with examining audio recordings implicating Saqr in the transfer of arms to Syria.

OTV and al-Akhbar newspaper, both close to the Hizbullah-led March 8 majority coalition, broadcast and printed a three-part series of the recordings in which the lawmaker allegedly discussed arrangements to ship arms supplies to the Syrian opposition.

Saqr held a press conference last week challenging the Syrian government and his Lebanese foes to prove that he was indeed providing rebels with weapons.

Crazy how the press can manipulate!
I am outraged by statements like : "OTV and al-Akhbar newspaper, both close to the Hizbullah-led March 8 majority coalition"

amd more by "Saqr held a press conference last week challenging the Syrian government and his Lebanese foes to prove that he was indeed providing rebels with weapons."

Sakr did not challenge! Sakr said he was sending MILK :)

Mustaqbal MP Ahmed Fatfat requested that General Security chief Abbas Ibrahim explain his meeting with Syrian security chief Ali Mamlouk in Damascus: Did he take advantage of the trip to determine the name of his mother and the full identity of Colonel Adnan?

Thumb lebnanfirst 10 December 2012, 19:56

Why are you outraged by the statement about OTV and Al-Akhbar? Which part of the statement is not true?

Missing peace 11 December 2012, 00:05

"OTV and al-Akhbar newspaper, both close to the Hizbullah-led March 8 majority coalition"

oh? it isn t true? LOL

Missing reformist 11 December 2012, 07:21

I am too innocent probably but the press is supposed to be neutral. Putting such statements in such a short article already 'formats' the readers

MR. Saqr doesn't need to defend himself, Hizbaala and his M8 cronies are creating all this hublah to distract us from the real issues @ hand, like Hizb fighting on the side of Assad, M8 government disastrous handling of the economy, the Hizb health minister's brother (which is also a devout Hizb member) importing expired medication and the list goes on and on....So what the heck if Mr. Saqr is supporting the FSA? We should be proud to have a good man as Mr. Saqr helping the FSA even with weapons...so WHAT?

Thumb geha 10 December 2012, 14:53

enough with m8 manipulating media from the assad era to benefit bashar the killer.

Missing reformist 11 December 2012, 07:23

Allouchito khayye you 'so what' is misplaced. I am not criticizing his involvement (which makes no doubt), I am criticizing his lack of credibility and his comedy show ;) Got it buddy?

Thumb geha 10 December 2012, 16:41

m8 guys
stop defending what cannot be defended, and stop spreading lies.
the end game is: Saqr wipe the floor with the likes of OTV and akhbar.

Thumb geha 10 December 2012, 18:01

no one in his right mind believes what otv and akhbar say :)
so whatever you guys want to do or say, no one believes trash like you.

Missing reformist 11 December 2012, 07:30

ana Geha ktir bye3jebne! I don't know if he is in self denial or if he really believes what he is saying! Wiped the floor? By saying "guys I was just having fun listening to your BS and your manipulation because I always had the tapes". After 3 days? Like seriously???
Again, I don't care if his cause (arming the rebellion) is good or not, the matter here is : he is a chicken!

Do you people ever stop insulting each other long enough to have a civilized conversation?

Can you calmly ask yourselves whether or not it is illegal and punishable by law for a private citizen to interfere in a foreign country's internal security affairs by supplying weapons to a group trying to topple that foreign country's government? What about when the private citizen who is supplying the weapons to the so-called FSA is actually is representative of the government who is supposedly a friend to the Syrian Government? Are their actions interpreted by the government being interfered with as an act of war or terrorism?

Lastly if the Syrian government requested military aid from HA which is a majority party in the Lebanese government and HA supplied it, isn't it considered a legal action between two allies?

nope...

If any of you have watched the press conference that MP Sakr held last week you would notice that he pointed out that all videos and recordings were on their way to prosecutor Hatem Madi. If Madi haven't received them yet then there is a problem. Also Sakr was very good at defending himself however as a centrist i can tell you that i noticed a few glitches in the 3 part audio conversations released by OTV as well as Sakr´s recording in his press conference. At this point all recordings should be delivered to authorities and analyzed second by second.

Y was Saqr sending milk n blankets in secret? Y is he giving press conferences from turkey not leb?... Is it realy that far fetched if he's sending weapons?

Let's just face some truths:

Samaha was sent by bashar n co.

Hassan was killed by, the very least, ppl affiliated with hizballah... If not full out sanctioned and carried out by them.

Sunni powers r helping fsa, while Shia powers r helping the Syrian gov.

What is every1 arguing about? :s

Missing peace 11 December 2012, 00:09

could any M8er tell us what is bad in helping people fight for their freedom? your ally hamas qualified the fight of the rebels as such....

Missing reformist 11 December 2012, 07:33

No shame and no problem peace. Our problem is with the very person of sakr who happens to be a agitated and ends up being a chicken!
He swore to God he had zero involvement, then said he is ready to face justice, then backs off and says he is just a milk dealer.
And people are proud of him being HONEST :)
This is my biggest issue with M14ers ;) Got it buddy?

Missing peace 11 December 2012, 00:12

it was the wish of aoun to oust the assad family, could any FPMer tell us what is different now?

Missing reformist 11 December 2012, 07:33

Hors sujet peace as usual!
Just answer a question : do you believe sakr was dealing milk or weapons?
At least be a man and be HONEST ;)

Missing reformist 11 December 2012, 07:28

Guys! You accuse syria and then HA of killings based on NOTHING, it seems logical for you... Now that you have real logic you deny it?
1. The guy first admitted and said clearly he is not "ashamed of what he did" and he is ready to "face justice"
2. Why the hell would he keep such recordings of milky traffic
3. read the news (google it) and see why there are doubts about the tapes
4. now he is coming with "i wanted to trick you and give you a lesson"

All of the above is not a sign of BS?! And then you dare saying TSL has strong proof?
