Eight men from the Palestinian refugee camp of Ain el-Hilweh have been killed in fighting alongside rebels in Syria, al-Akhbar newspaper reported on Friday.

The daily said that the announcement of the deaths was made recently in the camp that lies in the southern city of Sidon.

Among the dead gunmen is Mahmoud Suleiman, the nephew of Jamal Suleiman, who became the head of Ansarullah organization after he fell out of Hizbullah a few weeks ago, al-Akhbar said.

Reports have said that Jamal split from Hizbullah after he was not able to control his supporters and prevent them from backing the revolution against Syrian President Bashar Assad.

Syrian rebels have frequently accused Hizbullah fighters of taking part alongside government troops in fighting against rebels.

The party has recently buried several members whom it called martyrs who died while performing jihad duties, without mentioning how their deaths occurred.

You have to admit palestinians were always trouble makers. They were big part of the civil war in Lebanon, a mess in Jordan, now they are trying to fix syria. No wonder why the west never considered them worthy.

Ship the back to to gaza and let the Syrians move in.

really? thats your solution?

why dont we ship them back to gaza, then maybe level the camp and make a public park.

or maybe even better considering the situation: social housing for the people who cannot really afford to buy a house anymore.

or even maybe tourist areas to actually make some money in the country.

possibilities are endless, but the one that should be off the table is replacing refugees with other refugees. if we do put the syrians in the place of palestinians and treat them the same (ie same restrictions and lack of social integration), they will be exactly the same.

Well the Palestinians will be better off in the new Syria. A lot of work, tons of rebuilding to do. It will be Sunni Islamic so they will feel right at home. Probably lawless so they can fire rockets at the Israeli border too.
