Security Official: Drone Downed in Israel Was not Sent from Lebanon

A Lebanese security official denied on Monday that a drone downed by the Israeli air force off the northern coast of Israel had been sent from Lebanon.

The official, who was not identified, told An Nahar newspaper that Israel rushed to the conclusion that Hizbullah was behind the unmanned aircraft (UAV) that the Israeli military said was intercepted five nautical miles off the coast of Haifa last Thursday.

UNIFIL's naval contingent is heavily deployed at sea and in Lebanon's territorial waters and could have seen any movement if the drone was sent from Lebanon, the official said.

He suggested that it could have been sent by an Israeli amateur from his country's coast or Hamas could have been behind it.

The incident, which was the second in less than seven months, was denied by Hizbullah.

The party's leader Sayyed Hassan Nasrallah confirmed in October that Hizbullah had sent an Iranian-built drone into Israeli airspace and claimed it had overflown sensitive sites in Israel.

Warplanes shot down on October 7 the unarmed drone over Israel's southern Negev desert after it entered the country's airspace from the Mediterranean Sea.

FT, my son has one of the toys you are talking about, and is part of a kite club, those are flown within eye distance visibility. The other one you are dubbing as a "toy" too, to reach destination, needs a flight plan, and has to be monitored through sophisticated equipment. If you know shops that sells them, let me know, i would gladly buy one and possibly start WWIII.

Freeleb,
Hell to everybody but deffently not with a price tag of 2-4 billion dollar of damage, almost no electricity because of bombing the stations.Yes if you will aregue that Israel lost 158 soilders, yes they did and they cry for that, because for them life has higher value then money. They lost nothing during the 2006 war other then the soilders, which for them is worthed more then anything, and the stupid dream that they will destroy hezballah, which I wish could have been acheived, but no normal person will accept that will be able acheived. Clearly we lost it and still suffering for it. When someone has nothing to lose deffently it will be easier to say "Hell with the jews and their Lebanese lover," but when there is a huge price tag attached with these kind of nosense games, then better not to play.
The only winner was hezballah and the only thing they won was "ARROGANCE AND MORE REASON TO BULLY" ON THE EXPANCE OF ALL LEBANON.

Israel is protecting its other allies in death, Hezbollah. The first allies being the Baathist dictatoship.

The true resistance is us, lebanese citizens who resist israel, syria, iran, and farsi lebanese terrorists.
