Saudi Arabia is determined to invite a number of Lebanese political figures to visit it in order to “bolster the consensual atmosphere” produced by the formation of a new government, reported the daily An Nahar on Sunday.

These figures include Lebanese Forces leader Samir Geagea, who may visit the kingdom soon, added the daily.

His visit may include a meeting with former Prime Minister Saad Hariri.

The meeting may tackle the latest developments in Lebanon, especially the formation of the cabinet and the differences between the Lebanese Forces and Mustaqbal Movement over this issue.

Geagea last visited Saudi Arabia in 2010.

Ties have deteriorated between the Movement and Lebanese Forces after Hariri agreed to participate with Hizbullah in Prime Minsiter Tammam Salam's government.

Geagea had been adamant to stay out of the cabinet, saying he would not share power with Hizbullah.

He has also reportedly expressed dismay at the recent rapprochement between Hariri and his foe Free Patriotic Movement chief MP Michel Aoun.

I'm proud of Geagea and wish that Mustaqbal would not have participated in a governement with those who Assassinated Lebanon.

Hariri may have plenty of defects, but what about your boss????

The Batrak is proposing neutrality for Lebanon: which is an excellent thing for the prosperity of ALL the lebanese.
Why Aoun is against neutrality? Because he is the underdog who has to obey orders from above (and outside).
Is this YOUR leader???

Karim, irt saddens me to see such posts whenever a personality from M14 appears and receives such random treatment. You know how much I respect your posts, even if I disagree with several of them, but let us say that your views on Geagea are true, or even substantiated, OK, good so far, but must we also ignore those figures of M8 whenever they travel to Damascus or Tehran? Do you honestly believe that these do so keeping their integrity intact? Please my dear brother, justice is hardly ever served half baked.

In this case ya Captain, it would not be unfair of me to say that 99.99% of Lebanon's politicians should stay out of Lebanon. It reminds me of that most blistful of times when some years ago they all went to Doha, Lebanon felt like the Biblical paradise of Eden. Check this link if you could, for that beautiful song dedicated to them all, "Zou3ametna fallou min Loubnen, sar fina n3ish bi amen...".

@karim: If in fact GeaGea was on KSA payroll then he would have been represented in the current Gov. similar to Nasrallah taking orders from Iran to kidnap Israeli soldiers in 2006 and create a war on Lebanon, now he continue his slavery by entering Syria which just created Al-Qaida car bombs in Lebanon. Those who continued to carry arms post the Lebanese war and assassinated every single anti-syrian politician/journalist that opposed them are the real enemies of the Lebanese state.

If there is any time for the Christian leaders to show patriotism, selflessness and unity it is NOW.
It is prime time for all the Christian leaders (Gaegae, Aoun, Gemayel... and other traditional MPs) to agree on a young, well educated, clean handed candidate. Their collective support of such a candidate will make him a strong and effective president. I pray for such thing to take place and demonstrate what true Democracy should look like.
