Israeli Army Official: Syria Battlegrounds Upgraded Hizbullah Capabilities

The Israeli army is preparing to fight Hizbullah, which has developed new capabilities due to its experience in Syria's war, a senior Israeli military official said.

“Hizbullah’s confidence is growing, along with its combat experience in Syria,” the Jerusalem Post quoted the officer, who was not named, as saying.

“The battlegrounds of Syria have enabled Hizbullah to upgrade its capabilities. Hizbullah plans to send many combatants into Israeli territory near the border and seize it.”

This threat has prompted Israel to make “dramatic changes” to its border-defense plans, the source added.

Hizbullah fighters have been aiding troops loyal to President Bashar Assad against rebels trying to topple him.

The source warned that the Israeli army will retake control of any area the group occupies in a surprise attack.

He also said that a full-scale Israeli war effort would result in the defeat of the Shiite party.

“There is no problem with massing the forces and heading out on a speedy ground maneuver. We can do this very quickly,” he said. “The damage would be enormous in Lebanon.

Seems that Israel does not get the lessons very quickly. 1982 2000 2006 etc. is not enough for them to understand that their army is out dated by resisting groups: Hezbollah - Hamas and tomorrow who knows whom.

It's sad how the innocents in Lebanon are gonna be killed off all because of right wing ideologies, thanks alot guys.

Preparing us for the inevitable war that THEY (Israel) will start

Israel couldn't even handle a bunch of unorganized Hamas fighters with AK's in Gaza.
The idea of Israel doing another ground incursion into the South is laughable.

Missing helicopter 16 September 2014, 05:31

Iran has accomplished what Israel was incapable of ..... Occupation of Lebanon, not just the South.

Thumb nickjames 15 September 2014, 19:34

You guys laugh at Israel, because they're hilarious. Their ground forces are incapable of invading and it's so funny because then they just drop airstrikes and destroy all of Lebanon's infrastructure, and make thousands of people flee their homes. It's so funny guys. You people don't even think about what you're saying.

The funny part is all the "Lebanese" that call/ask/cheer/wish for America to strike our region again.

The funny part is all the "Lebanese" that side with ISIS just to be against HA.

The funny part is all the "Lebanese" who claim to be "liberal and moderate" all while praising the Saudi's and the US for their humanitarianism.

Thumb nickjames 15 September 2014, 20:22

I'm not sure if you're making fun of my comment, but the first two parts are wrong Bill. People shouldn't be asking the US to strike ISIS, they should be doing it without anyone asking. Remember "all" Lebanese factions agreed to the Baabda Declaration, which was to keep Lebanon out of regional conflicts (then again Hezbollah went to Syria so the agreement is null and void). So if the US attacks Iraq that should have had nothing to do with Lebanon. Second, no Christian sides with ISIS, period. Whether he's with or against Hezbollah has nothing to do with being against ISIS. Whoever Mustaqbal supports has nothing to do with Christians.

"the only force capable of defeating ISIL"..is the USA??

hahah...yeah just like they were able to beat the towel-heads in Afghan. Or just like the beat al-qeadea in Iraq, right??

M11er, please remind me again who funded/trained/gave weapons to ISIL??

I came on this site to make fun of idiots like you, but it seems your doing a fine job making fun of yourself haha

Thumb nickjames 15 September 2014, 21:25

Yeah so let's just let them be and not fight them because we can't beat them. Let's not bomb lunatics in Afghanistan because we can't beat them. Let's not bomb lunatics in Iraq because we can't beat them. Great logic Bill.

As for your USA-training-ISIS theory, this is what you're referring to?http://www.wnd.com/2014/06/officials-u-s-trained-isis-at-secret-base-in-jordan/

I guess bombing is the answer right????
I mean look how good Afghanistan/Iraq/Libya turned out after some democracy bombing, right???

Thumb bill.thebutcher 15 September 2014, 21:49

You keep helping prove my point.
Yes, these countries were bad but they are far worse now. And btw, Ghaddfi was going to make a centralized African dollar to re-place the US dollar, thats why he was overthrown. So please spare me your CNN BS propaganda, thanks.

You want me to read an article detailing how the US trained ISIS in Jordan??? Thank you. Ive read many a article related to this topic. I dont need to see yours. I already know its true.

Thumb nickjames 15 September 2014, 22:01

I know of his plans for the gold dinar. I never said anything about the start of the Libyan civil war. I was just talking about the things Gaddafi did a long time ago. Saddam was going to do the same thing, that's why the US went after him. Hussein and Gaddafi were both dictators who wanted to trade in currencies other than USD, which is a financial threat to the West.

Thumb nickjames 15 September 2014, 22:04

Was the Libyan Revolution fishy? Yes, simply because the rebels created a new central bank and oil company just weeks after the uprising began.

I believe there is merit in that argument. I would agree completely with your statement if HA's sole purpose was to fill in where LAF cannot. However, that is not the case. HA has regional aspirations beyond Lebanon's borders and are (obviously) very religiously motivated (the party's name says it all).

Thumb theresistance4.0 15 September 2014, 23:01

Hold on a second! But I thought HA, Iran are secret allies to Israel? I thought Bashar created ISIS? I thought in 2006 HA was beaten by Israel? O may now what in the world will Id with my "Truths"

As Sayed Hassan once said if the American and Israeli enemies praise us we must be doing something wrong. And he is right.

They must be dreaming if the want to come back into Lebanon. Maybe they need a reminder of what happened last time 2006 ..

Missing helicopter 16 September 2014, 05:29

Iran and the Syrian regime could not establish balanced power, but HA who gets arms and training from Iran is able to.
The Shiite Militia was not established to establish balance of power against Israel but to ensure it is the Supreme power in Lebanon serving the Supreme Ayatollah.
