Hariri Denies Buying 7-Million-Euro Apartment for Saudi Official

Former Prime Minister Saad Hariri denied on Saturday that he had bought a 7-million-euro apartment in Paris for a Saudi official working in the Royal Diwan.

The report of al-Akhbar daily is a fabrication, Hariri’s press office said.

Last month, Hariri also described as fabrications a report by al-Akhbar that he had taken an interest free-loan worth 7 billion Saudi riyals from Saudi King Abdullah.

The former PM slammed the newspaper, which is loyal to Hizbullah, noting that the Shiite party “had fallen in a media and political confusion” after its Secretary-General Sayyed Hassan Nasrallah admitted to receiving funding from Iran since the early 1980s.

We call this a kickback. Hizballah never denied receiving help from Iran to my knowledge. Unless they were claiming, it was donations from the Lebanese people.

I think every one is free to receive money from abroad as much as it is not stolen from public funds.
And why naharnet puts such post on the net? to show us that others benefit from the wealth of Hariri? or to show us that he is the red cross and Saudi royals does not have enought money to buy an appartement in Paris??? Any information about others politians buying homes and lands arround the world?

Yet Hezbollah politicians do, go figure. In fact, according to Naiim Qassem, in 1993 they had to send a delegation to Iran to get the blessings of the leadership there so they could field candidates in the Lebanese parliamentary election.

Actually it's from Al Akhbar so it's a fantasy.

Thought it was the other way around?? ie. "Saudi Official denies buying 7M Euros apartment for Hariri". Can it be a mistake?

"In an article published Saturday, Al-Akhbar newspaper reported that Hariri bought an apartment in Paris estimated to be over 7 million Euros and that he allegedly offered it as a gift for a Saudi official who works closely with Saudi King Abdallah..
Earlier in February, Hariri also denied a report by the same newspaper that he had received a $2 billion loan from Saudi Arabia due to his alleged financial woes.."

Now lemme get this story straight, so in February Al-Akhabar claims that Hariri had financial difficulties then at the beginning of March of the same year mind you, the same Al-Akhabar alleges he was financially well enough to buy an apartment in Paris worth over 7 million Euros as gift no less to some unnamed Saudi dude, gotta tell ya the kid is a financial wiz.

Yeah that seems plausible doesn't it, thank you Al-Akhabar for the laughs.

As a matter of Principle it is true Politicians should not receive money from anyone. So if it is true, then he did wrong and if not true then Naharnet owes him an apology. Same with Nasrallah and all others... shame on you for selling Lebanon, especially when you admit it (meaning no doubt it is true). Lebanon is not for sale ya shyateen.
