Jumblat Calls Hariri, Says Backing Army Part of Their 'Common Project'

إقرأ هذا الخبر بالعربية W460

Progressive Socialist Party leader MP Walid Jumblat on Sunday stressed that supporting the army would serve the project of building the state and prevent civil strife, urging Akkar’s residents “to be vigilant in order not to fall into the traps set up by the Syrian regime.”

Jumblat -- who telephoned former premier Saad Hariri condemning the killing of Sheikh Ahmed Abdul Wahed and his companion at an army checkpoint in Akkar – reminded the ex-PM of “the honorable national stances he took when the Lebanese army confronted Fatah al-Islam’s gangs in the Nahr al-Bared camp and the embracing of the military institution during that war.”

“This stance which is supportive of the army is part of their common project: the project of the state,” said a statement issued by the PSP about the phone call between the two leaders.

Jumblat also called for an urgent probe into the Akkar incident “in order to hold the culprits accountable in a manner similar to what General Michel Suleiman did when he was the commander of the army during the Shiyyah incidents.”

We are drifting towards another civil war, I lived in the war zone during the 70's, I have not witnessed such hate speech, racism during that period like these days. May God put some wisdom in the hearts of Lebanese people to avoid another mess that will pay no one but blood and disaster.

Thumb geha 20 May 2012, 20:54

totally agree: I lived that period too, but never the rhetoric was like it is now especially from m8 guys.
the hate they spread is at an unbelievable level and can be understood only as follows:
- the syrian regime is falling down
- iran lost bahrain and its internal situation is explosive due to the sanctions
- hizbushaitan, fpm and so forth, see what is going o with their allies and are scared for their future
-they knw there will not be a change in the electoral law that would favor them.
the only thing they can do is a military action to force a new taef.
but that will not happen whatever the costs.

Thumb geha 20 May 2012, 21:39

thank you for proving once more my point idiot.
your hatred must be consuming you to the bone, and if it relaxes you to spit it out, then be it.
but we do not want a new civil war and will not accept to be dragged to such a low level of comments, thus I wish you a good night and a happy future :)

Thumb geha 21 May 2012, 09:02

keep it up FT, insults, death wishes, bullying, misinformation,....
but watch out for your health with all that anger and hatred toward all your fellow citizens, just to defend the undefendable actions of your syro/iranian masters :)

FloatingTurd I don't know you or Geha for that matter or if either of you will make it through a civil war :(
but I can assure you of one thing in case it breaks out Michel Aoun will not be killed in it because as everyone known by now he will die a cowards death in bed bitter and unfulfilled quoting Comic Book Guy: "Ohhh. I've wasted my life

Thumb jahami 20 May 2012, 22:40

Geha, all parties are responsible for the mess we are in now, I came back to live in Lebanon and left again last year, it was a disaster, could not belive the hate reached to that level, the new generation is hard to convince nor to discipline.

FT that's one hell of a psychotic statement you made here...

@Flamethrower, just think about all the innocent kids killed during the war... And then go look at yourself in the mirror and think about what you just said above... Basically you want to exterminate half of your country's people. Your mother must be very proud of you...

Missing lebcan 21 May 2012, 04:04

FT just listen to yourself ... 'all shot in the head'... FT in your mind your all set to go for a Civil War... Sorry I'm not and I can safely most of the readers on this site aren't ... but it just takes a few people (from both sides) like yourself and once your in the war mode you will wreak mass destruction...

Thumb geha 21 May 2012, 09:03

come on FT, ease up!
all that anger...... it is not good for your health :)

You should pray for civil war not to happen idiot, she3as and sunis would destroy the country but ultimately survive as communities and most likely the christians would pay the heaviest price being caught in the middle precisely because they have barkers like m aoun. I dont think you really think of what you say sometimes. This war, god forbid, would tu7ruk akhdar and yabes and would spread from Syria to lebanon, do not be fooled by the hizbustan current surplus of strength as it would not protect you, M14 would be history and would actually be marginal in the fight so dont hate them that much, such war would erase the borders and brings fighters from all over (look at iraq.. and look at syria), again God FORBID. read how the PLO had fighters from all over Arabia. read history carefuly with eyes wide open and you might realize that hariri is not so bad after all, we need moderates from all sides, all yer7amak ya mosa sadr and ya rafic hariri.

All of you m14 and m8 should face the end promoted by FT, starting by trolls similar to FT. air bheik balad aslan, lashou.

Thumb lebnanfirst 21 May 2012, 07:59

Your logic is even dumber than you are. Pathetic human being. The likes of you should have no place or future in Lebanon or any where else for that matter. Full of hate and violence with no redeeming value whatsoever. You will most likely meet the fate you wish to descend on those that do not agree with you.

The only ones who want a civil war are the people who shat on the Sunni and forced them to turn to extremism. M8 went to far by deposing Harriri and the Sunnis feel de-franchised. Admit it, you bit off more than you can chew, and your actions have led us to the door steps of another civil war. this war will be your doom, you will get alot of military victories, but i guarantee in the end you will lose political. Your double standards stink. the army would not dare go into da7yeh when there was an explosion because HA told it no... are you kidding? and you want a strong country with strong institutions?? MY A$$.

Thumb geha 21 May 2012, 09:06

Ft, are you sure you are not aoun?
you surely talk like him :)
ease up man, otherwise you will explode a vein or something.... :)

Thumb geha 21 May 2012, 09:10

Dear FT:
- you need to reconsider your comment as you do not seem to realize what you are talking about!
- your comments are nazi comments....
- no one can eliminate the other whatever they try in lebanon.
- one thing you seem to forget is the majority of the army is coming from the north.
- do you think the army would not dissolve immediately without any calls from anyone?
calm down nd listen to yourself, and hopefully you will realize how extremist you are....

FT, if civil war breaks out, you and yours will be the first to suffer, and you're master will be one of the first to die. Keeps asking for it, and you will get it.

Slash, Flamethrower and all you other regulars.
go get a life, a job, a degree...in short do something productive for yourselves and society.
Your posts across these forums would be illegal in any civilised society under the section of incitement to hate not to mention that they would be grouped into the Beavis and Butthead categorie of utter stupidity.
I use naharnet for a quick catch up on Lebanese news since I live abroad and I can tell you all that you're a disgrace to all of us as Lebanese. So leave the site as a news source, nobody cares about your opinion anyways. Get back to real life as when you wake up a failure in 10 years you can point partially to all the time wasted posting cr*p online as a main reason.
Children and idiots the lot of you

Missing reformist 21 May 2012, 19:18

I tend to agree with all what you say observer, except when yourself you lose your temper and start calling people idiots :) No need to go that low... just state your opinion for the ones who would care...

Losing temper... Sign of education, self confidence and self esteem :)
