Germany announced on Saturday its intention to present financial aid to the various international organizations aimed at assisting refugees in Lebanon.

Social Affairs Minister Wael Abou Faour was informed of Germany's intention to donate USD14.5 million by Germany's Federal Minister for Economic Cooperation and Development Dirk Niebel, who visited Lebanon recently.

The donation will go to the concerned international organizations aimed at aiding Syrian and Palestinian refugees, who flooded Lebanon from Syria.

For his part, Abou Faour informed the German official that Lebanon will not close the border in the face of refugees, adding that Lebanon is seeking to provide all that is needed to assist the displaced people.

On Friday, U.S. Ambassador to Lebanon Maura Connelly, European Union Ambassador to Lebanon Angelina Eichhorst, and U.N. Special Coordinator for Lebanon Derek Plumbly all hailed the Lebanese government's efforts to cater to the needs of the refugees.

Over 150,000 Syrian refugees have flooded Lebanon since the eruption of anti-regime protests in neighboring Syria in March 2011.

Palestinian refugees seeking refuge in Lebanon have also increased since regime forces shelled the Yarmuk refugee camp in recent weeks.

Some 10,000 Palestinians have sought refuge in Lebanon.

Another $14.5 million to someones pocket.
If they wanted it to go to the refugees, nothing easier than sending it in the form of prefabricated buildings, food, medicines, clothes etc. Nothing in the form of money, that too easily slides into the pockets of...... &.......&.........& etc.
