New Images Show Ancient Snakes Had Limbs

Ultra-sharp 3-D X-ray imaging of a 95-million-year-old fossil found in Lebanon has shed light on the evolution of snakes from limbed lizards, French scientists said on Wednesday.

The 50-centimetre (20-inch) fossil of Eupodophis desouensi shows a small hind leg attached to the animal's pelvis. It had been buried beneath its body, and was only visible thanks to the new technique.

British Woman Dies After Buttocks Injection at US Hotel

U.S. police are investigating the death of a 20-year-old British student who got a silicone injection into her buttocks at a hotel near the Philadelphia airport, a report said.

Claudia Adusei died at a Delaware hospital early in the morning Tuesday just hours after getting the "enhancement" injections at a Hampton Inn near the international airport, NBC said.

German Love Stunt Ends in Tragedy

A romantic gesture went tragically wrong in Germany Monday when a man trying to affix a sign on a motorway bridge to mark the 10th anniversary of his relationship fell to his death, police said.

"According to preliminary investigations ... the 29-year-old was somehow trying to attach a banner with his name, a woman's name and the phrase '10 years' to the bridge," said police in the western city of Cologne.

Foreigners Now Majority of Bahrain's Population

The number of foreigners living in the tiny Gulf kingdom of Bahrain in 2010 overtook the number of local nationals for the first time, the statistics office announced on Monday.

The office's website said a census carried out in April 2010 indicated that out of Bahrain's 1.234 million inhabitants, about 54 percent or 666,172 were foreigners, while 568,399, or 46 percent, were nationals.
